RICHFIELD, Utah, Sept. 6, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — A 19-year-old girl is in critical condition after rolling her car on I-70 in Richfield Monday.

The girl was traveling east near mile marker 39 when the accident happened at approximately 11:15 a.m., according to a news release from the Utah Highway Patrol.

“For some unknown reason, which is still under investigation, she drifted off the road to the left and into the median,” the news release said.

“The driver corrected back to the right and then over-corrected back to the left, causing the vehicle to slide sideways into the median.

“The vehicle began to roll through the median into the center of westbound travel lanes.”

The driver, who was wearing her seatbelt, sustained fractures to her face and skull.

She was transported to Sevier Valley Hospital by ground ambulance and then by air to a Salt Lake hospital in critical condition.
