Carload of teens lead West Valley City police on high-speed chase

WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah, June 12, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — Three teens are in serious trouble after leading West Valley City police on a high-speed chase overnight.

The chase began shortly after 1 a.m. when a West Valley City patrol officer spotted a suspected stolen car near 4000 West 4100 South.

The officer had just begun to follow the car when the teens bolted. The chase reached speeds of 80 miles an hour, before their car jumped a curb and plowed into a row of shrubbery at 4300 South 1300 West.

Five teenagers were pulled from the car.

Three of them were arrested and booked into detention.

There were no reports of injuries in the chase.

The police investigation is ongoing.
