15-year-old boy critically injured in Cedar City ATV crash

CEDAR CITY, Utah, Nov. 7, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — A 15-year-old boy is in critical condition after he lost control of the ATV he was driving Monday night and collided with a pickup truck.

According to Cedar City Police Department officials, the teen was driving the ATV northbound in the area of 1700 N. Lund Highway (3100 West) just after 6 p.m. He attempted to slow down for a pickup truck that was turning right, lost control of the ATV and was ejected, officials said.

Police said the teen was traveling at a high rate of speed before the crash.

He was flown by medical helicopter to an area hospital.

The driver of the pickup truck was not injured.

The teenager’s name has not been released by officials.
