VIDEO: Ceremonial U.S. Flag Arrives In Utah To Honor UPD Officer Doug Barney

Today ICSO, UHP and several other agencies had the privilege to escort the family of Unified Police Officer Doug Barney through Iron County to make their way home to Salt Lake.

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Jan. 20, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — A flag that has been used to honor fallen heroes since just after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks traveled through Utah on Wednesday to honor Unified Police Department officer Douglas S. Barney, who on Sunday was shot and killed in the line of duty.

The United States Honor Flag started the day at Utah’s southern border, where escorts from Utah police agencies joined the honor procession, headed to the Utah State Capital. The flag, along with police escorts from the length of the state, are expected to at the Utah State Capital tonight, for an 8 p.m. for a ceremony at which it will be received by Sheriff James Winder and his Administration in honor of their fallen comrade.

The flag procession made its way through Iron County earlier today. Check out the video, above.
