Elderly Woman Killed, Two Injured In Cottonwood Heights Crash

COTTONWOOD HEIGHTS, Utah, May 31, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — A traffic accident late Sunday night on Wasatch Boulevard has killed an elderly woman.

The Cottonwood Heights Police Department responded to the scene, on Wasatch Boulevard between 5600 South and Fort Union Boulevard, at about 9:20 p.m. Sunday.

Investigators say the woman and two other people in the car were northbound on Wasatch Boulevard, and slowed to make a right turn. Their car was struck by another northbound vehicle. The second vehicle’s driver is suspected of being under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

The elderly woman in the back seat died at the scene. The two others in that car were transported to the hospital in critical condition.

The names of those involved have not yet been released.
