UTAH COUNTY, Utah, Oct. 25, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — One person is dead after a head-on collision between a pickup truck and a semi on Tuesday morning at the mouth of Spanish Fork Canyon.

The driver of the Chevy pickup, Court Anderson, 77, from American Fork, was pronounced dead on scene.

Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Todd Royce confirmed the collision occurred at approximately 10:30 a.m. on SR-6 at milepost 179.

The white Chevy pickup was eastbound on SR-6, when for an unknown reason the Anderson crossed the double yellow line and struck a red semi head-on.

The driver of the semi was not injured.

SR-6 was fully then partially closed until 3:30 p.m. All westbound traffic was re-routed down 89 through Nephi Canyon, and eastbound traffic was turned around prior to the canyon.

There was a small fire on the semi but that was put out quickly by fire personnel.

The crash is currently under investigation.
