GRAND COUNTY, Utah, April 22, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — A motorcycle accident on  State Route 128 resulted in the death of a 38-year-old man Sunday morning.

A news release from Utah Department of Public Safety reports that the accident occurred at about 11:53 a.m. on southbound SR-128 near milepost 41. Cisco is the town nearest to the crash.

Kevin Swoffer, of Cedaredge, Colo., was on a 2014 Harley Davidson when he veered off the road to the right, lost control on the gravel shoulder and laid the motorcycle down.

“The driver was wearing a helmet, but suffered significant head injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene,” the news release states.

Swoffer was the only person on the motorcycle. It isn’t known what caused him to veer off the road.

Utah Highway Patrol said that speed and impairment do not appear to be factors in the accident.

Swoffer was traveling with the motorcycle group BACA at the time of the crash.
