Crews tackle late night blaze in Ogden

OGDEN, Utah, March 12, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Crews responded to a report of a structure fire at 545 Chester St. late Sunday night.

Flames were coming from a garage on the property when crews arrived, Ogden Fire Department tweeted.

The initial time of dispatch was 11:25 p.m., and the fire was under control by 11:51 p.m. Crews were checking to make sure the flames hadn’t spread to any nearby structures.

Officials said the home is vacant, so no one was displaced. There were no injuries in this fire.

Damage was contained to the detached garage and has been estimated at $15,000. No other structures were affected.

The cause of the blaze has not been determined and is under investigation by the Ogden City Fire Department Fire Marshal.

Seventeen firefighters from Ogden and Northview Fire Department responded to the scene, with a ladder truck, three engines, a paramedic rescue, an ambulance, and the Battalion Chief.
