WEST JORDAN, UTAH – August, 1, 2015 – Gephardt Daily

An afternoon of summer fun is in the offing Saturday at Veteran’s Memorial Park in West Jordan, where thousands are expected to turn out for the Fourth Annual ‘Day of Hope Car Show’.

Proceeds from the event – which runs between noon and 4:30 p.m. –  will go to The Friends of the Salt Lake County Children’s Justice Center, a support group whose mission it is to provide funding and awareness about the SLCCJC and the vital role it plays in protecting victims of child abuse.

The primary goal of the Friends of the Salt Lake City Children’s Justice Center is to help provide a family-friendly, home environment where abused children can receive coordinated support services during the course of critical criminal investigations. A statement on the Center’s website says, “When the child or teen feels safe and supported during the interview process they can feel reassured that caring professionals are looking out for their best interest and help them gain the access to counseling or expert medical care if needed.”

The second objective of the FSLCCJC is to raise funds to support the program costs, including client needs, furnishings, facilities, as well as the top flight counselors and professionals required to make the operation run.

Those attending the ‘Day of Hope Car Show’ will not only be treated to an endless array of extraordinary automobiles, they’ll also help defray the costs of a premiere organization that’s been helping Salt Lake area families and children since 1993.
