Update: Victim in Salt Lake City shooting identified

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah Feb. 17, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — The deceased victim of an early morning shooting Friday at an apartment at 1930 S. West Temple has been identified.

Salt Lake City Police Department tweeted Friday afternoon the victim has been identified as Melvin Dyer, 51.

Brody Olson, 36, has been booked into jail for murder, robbery and burglary, the SLCPD added.

Salt Lake City Police Detective Richard Chipping told Gephardt Daily that police were called to the scene of an argument with shots fired at about 5:30 a.m. When they arrived they found Dyer dead, and another man and woman injured with what Chipping described as “grazing head wounds.”

    NO ARGUMENT.
    I do not know why or whom said that.
    The guy knocked on door…. woke us… we did not open at 1st knock.
    2nd knock, my friend got up… opened door no one at door, so looked. He came back in with a gun at him. I looked at guy and said out that thing a way, you kidding Me? He reassured me that he was not kidding, told me empty pockets and purse. I don’t have shit…. he told us go in back room. We started, thank heavens out high power looking over us, he looked down. My friend took opportunity and took him down. We took action.

    I do not know who gave you all the b.s. your saying but that is the truth
