Update: Man Critically Injured In South Salt Lake Stabbing

SOUTH SALT LAKE, Utah, April 6, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — A 25-year-old man is in critical condition after being stabbed Tuesday night at an apartment complex near 3810 S. 875 West in South Salt Lake.

Police investigators were first called to the scene just after 9 p.m. with reports of an injured man shouting for help in the apartment building courtyard.

When rescue teams arrived, they found a man with multiple stab wounds to his upper torso. He was rushed by ambulance to Intermountain Medical Center in Murray with life-threatening injuries. As of Wednesday morning, the victim had undergone surgery and is still critical but stable.

Investigators told Gephardt Daily that the South Salt Lake man — whose identity has yet to be released — previously lived in the apartments, and was believed to be visiting friends at the time stabbing.

Police have yet to establish a motive or identify a suspect in the case.

The victim told police he did know his attacker.
