DRAPER, Utah, Nov. 15, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) ─ Draper Police officials have arrested Kevin Humphreys in connection with multiple cases of mail theft throughout Salt Lake County.

Police officials searched Humphreys’ West Valley residence on Nov. 20, and say numerous pieces of mail were found. At least a thousand victims have been identified from addresses on the mail. Draper investigators plan to work with agencies from other cities to return recovered mail to victims.

“It’s going to take a little while, probably until next week, before we are able to make contact with all the people,” Sgt. Chad Carpenter, of the Draper Police Department, told Gephardt Daily. “We hope to be able to return all the mail as soon as possible. We are cataloging all the evidence, and hope to make contact with people, hopefully by Wednesday.”

Humpfreys became a suspect in the check forgery after a surveillance tape at CheckCity captured an image of his car. He was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail.
