KEARNS, Utah, Nov. 12, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — Four vehicles ended up crunched Saturday night after the driver of a van dozed off at the wheel and crossed over the center line in the area of 6200 S. 4400 West.

Unified Police Lt. K. Malone said the driver of the westbound van crossed over into oncoming traffic, hitting another vehicle, which flipped over.

Two other cars also were damaged in the chain reaction.

Malone said the male driver of the vehicle that flipped was transported to the hospital with a cut to his head. No one else was transported.

“It’s kind of surprising to have a minor injury, with this many vehicles involved and the damage,” Malone said.

There was no indication that alcohol was a factor in the incident, Malone said, but as part of the investigation, officials will be determining if any drugs were involved.
