Driver injured, extricated after vehicle rolls on I-15 in Salt Lake City

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Oct. 7, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — A man was seriously injured Saturday night when his vehicle rolled at 2300 North on Interstate 15.

Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Evan Kirby told Gephardt Daily the driver was ejected in the single-vehicle crash and was pinned under the car. A heavy rescue team was called out to extricate him.

The driver, who is believed to be about 50 years old, was in and out of consciousness when rescue crews arrived on scene shortly after 9 p.m. He was transported to Intermountain Medical Center in extremely serious condition.

Kirby said the cause of the rollover is still under investigation.
