Thousands without power near Eagle Mountain; power to schools restored

UTAH COUNTY, Utah, Jan, 10, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Nearly 3,600 customers are without power near Eagle Mountain Wednesday morning.

Rocky Mountain Power reports that two outages have left 3,629 customers in the dark, and officials are still investigating the cause.

The outages in zip codes 84013 and 84005 were first reported just before 8 a.m. and it’s expected that power will be restored by 11 a.m.

Earlier Wednesday, schools in the Alpine School District were without power including Frontier, Eagle Valley, Cedar Fort and Mountain Trails.

Those schools used generators during the outage, and power was restored by 9:45 a.m.
