WEST JORDAN, Utah, March 1, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — A rogue school bus in West Jordan took off Thursday after its driver forgot to set her parking brake.

The very short trip — just across the road and into a fence — happened at about 10:30 a.m. at 8400 S. Redwood Road, near South Valley School.

“The bus driver, along with some other buses, had pulled into the parking lot of the school,” Sgt. Mike Nunnelley, West Jordan Police Department, told Gephardt Daily. “They were there to pick up students.

“She got out of her bus to go talk to some other drivers, thought she had set her park break, then the vehicle started rolling,” he said. “It went across Redwood Road.”

One nearby driver didn’t notice in time, and his car got clipped.

“It caught the  front end of the car,” Nunnelley said of the bus. “No injuries were reported, no students on the bus, no occupants because the driver had exited her bus.”
