TOOELE COUNTY, Utah, April 22, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — Utah Highway Patrol has identified the man killed in a crash on I-80 that also seriously injured two others early Friday morning.

UHP said in a news release 38-year-old Andy W. Lew, of Spanish Fork, was killed after a semi hit the back end of the car he was riding in that for some unknown reason had stopped or slowed down in the right lane of I-80 at 5 a.m.

Officials said Lew was in the back seat of a Dodge Neon and was killed on impact. The driver of the semi said he did not see the car before it was too late and he could not avoid the collision.

A 35-year-old female passenger and a 34-year-old female driver sustained serious injuries and were flown by medical helicopter to the hospital.

The driver of the truck was not injured.
