Updated: Man killed in Farr West crash on Saturday identified

FARR WEST, Utah, Sept. 17, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — One person has died and two others are in serious condition following a traffic accident in Farr West on Saturday.

The Weber County Sheriff’s Office has identified the deceased as Roberto Jimenez, 33, of West Jordan.

At approximately 4:21 p.m., Weber County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to 4000 North and 2000 West for an accident involving serious injuries.

According to a news release from the sheriff’s office, a GMC Envoy was attempting to make a left turn onto 2000 West from 4000 North and pulled in front of a Ford SuperDuty truck pulling a trailer.

The truck hit the Envoy near the driver’s door, causing serious injuries to Jimenez, the driver of the Envoy.

Jimenez was airlifted to the hospital, where he later died of his injuries.

A 27-year-old woman and a toddler were also in the Envoy and were seriously injured. They were transported by ambulance to an area hospital. The woman has been released from the hospital. The child is still being treated, and the hospital is not providing any information about his condition.

The 32-year-old driver of the truck had minor injuries and was treated and released at the scene.

The crash is still under investigation.
