JUNEAU, Alaska, July 27, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — The FBI has taken a suspect into custody and is expected to announce charges Thursday after a Utah woman died following domestic abuse while on an Alaskan cruise.

The victim has been identified as Kristy Manzanes, 39, of St. George.

“Since the incident, our fleet security team has been coordinating with the FBI and other local authorities,” the statement says. “They will be embarking the ship when it arrives in Juneau this morning. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and all those impacted by this tragic event.”

The ship, the Emerald Princess, left Seattle on Sunday for a seven-day, round trip cruise. A planned scenic trip to Tracy Arm Fjord on Wednesday was canceled due to the death investigation, the statement says.
