Female construction worker falls multiple floors from building under construction in Salt Lake City

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, March 28, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — A female construction worker was transported to a local hospital after what the Salt Lake City Fire Department is calling “an extreme fall” from a building in downtown Salt Lake City.

“We responded at about 4:10 to a call of an employee fall,” said Audra Sorensen, spokeswoman for the SLCFD. “It was a female, and she was taken to Intermountain Medical Center.

“It was an extreme fall, and I really can’t say more because I don’t know.”

According to reports from the site, the worker fell somewhere between 20 and 40 feet. Sorensen said she had heard conflicting accounts, and did not know which might be accurate.

The victim’s condition is unknown, she said.

The accident happened in a building under construction near the area of 150 North and 400 West.

Gephardt Daily will have more information as it becomes available.
