WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah, April 20, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — A fire Thursday night in West Valley City destroyed a large trailer and a fifth wheel.

The West Valley Fire Department was called to the scene just after 10 p.m., and responded to 2671 S. 5370 West.

“It came in originally as a truck fire,” Battalion Chief Jeff Fox said. “We had to make entry through a locked gate. It was a fifth wheeler and a large motor home.”

Firefighters tried to prevent the fire from spreading to nearby trailers at the location.

“We did contain it to the two motor homes that were on fire,” Fox said. “We had a couple propane explosions. Fortunately nobody got hurt.”

Fox said investigators were trying to determine the cause of the fire. Damages, he said, were at least several hundred thousand dollars.
