SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Nov. 30, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — A two-alarm fire in a Salt Lake City apartment complex Wednesday caused $100,000 in damages, officials said.

The call came in at about 2:30 p.m. for a fire at 235 S. Poplar Court (224 West), the Salt Lake City Fire Department said in a news release.

Thirty-six firefighters were on scene to attend to the blaze, which was extinguished within approximately 20 minutes.

One resident suffered minor injuries and was taken to Intermountain Medical Center, the news release said. All the residents of the apartment complex were displaced by the fire.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. It appears the blaze started in one of the six apartments in a home that had been converted into a multi-unit rental.

Gephardt Daily will have more on this developing story as information becomes available.
