Hiker seriously injured in fall in Big Cottonwood Canyon

SALT LAKE COUNTY, Utah, Nov. 13, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — Search and rescue teams and a helicopter were called to the Twin Peaks area of Big Cottonwood Canyon Monday afternoon after a man fell about 20 to 30 feet.

The name of the 44-year-old victim has not been released. According to the Unified Police Department, the man lost consciousness, is in serious but stable condition with head injuries and a broken arm.

As of 5:30 p.m., he had been successfully hoisted into a helicopter for the trip to a local hospital.
