1 dead after motorcycle crash at Hill Air Force Base

HILL AIR FORCE BASE, Utah, March 29, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — A civilian employee of Hill Air Force Base died after a motorcycle crash on the base Tuesday morning.

The crash happened at approximately 5:40 a.m. near the west gate of the base, according to a statement from HAFB, and one other vehicle was involved.

No further information about the crash was immediately released; the cause remains under investigation.

“My heart goes out to the families and friends of everyone involved in this morning’s accident,” said Col. Jennifer Hammerstedt, 75th Air Base Wing commander, in the prepared statement.

The west gate is located at the 650 north exit of Interstate 15 at Clearfield.

The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of family.
