I-15 crash in Kaysville sends two to hospital

KAYSVILLE, Utah, Feb. 9, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — A chain-reaction crash Thursday on Interstate 15 sent two men to the hospital and slowed rush-hour traffic to a virtual standstill.

Utah Highway Patrol Trooper Dean Coy said the crash, which happened at about 6 p.m., involved four vehicles. Traffic was barely moving in the No.1 lane when a driver failed to notice that traffic had slowed, and he drove into the vehicle in front of him, which was pushed forward into another car, and that car hit the one in front of it.

A man in the car that was hit first complained of chest and stomach pains. A male passenger in the second car was also injured. Trooper Coy had no details on the injuries, but said both men were transported to area hospitals in fair condition.

The northbound two left lanes of I-15 were closed for about an hour.
