UPDATEd: SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH – May 1, 2015 11:15 p.m. (Gephardt Daily) – Unified Police are now questioning the identity of the woman found in the suitcase along I-80 and believe it could be that of a missing Las Vegas Woman who has been missing since November, 2014.

Lt. Justin Hoyal of the Unified Police Department said they have received tips about the body’s similarities matching the description of Susana Villalvazo.

“We really can’t make any conclusive decisions but there is reason to believe it could be her,” said Hoyal. Until they know for sure, they can’t make that determination.

Susana Villalvazo, 46, went missing under what Las Vegas Police have described as suspicious circumstances along with her step father Samuel Teran, 75. Teran showed up two days later at a local Burger King restaurant where he shot himself and was taken off life support a short time later.

There are some disturbing similarities to the case of the missing woman, and these are things that have even made the family of Villalvazo fairly certain it is her.

According to NY Daily News authorities had said Villalvalzo’s body may be in one of two places, a suitcase that went missing from the family home and could now be in the desert, or at a storage facility the man had rented two years ago. The same employees at the Burger King had reported that they had seen the same man place a bloody suitcase in the back of his car but it is unclear at this time when that was reported. Neighbors also admitted to seeing Teran drag a suitcase wrapped in plastic outside their home the same say they went missing.

The body found inside a suitcase next to the I-80 has been described as a middle aged female, unknown ethnicity, with long dark hair, a tattoo on her left wrist of a pink breast cancer ribbon, mastectomy of the right breast, wearing a red/white tank top, red button-up shirt and jeans. All clothing is a size 8.

According to Las Vegas Television Station KVVU, Villalvalzo was described by Las Vegas Police as 5’6″ and 140 pounds. She is missing a breast and has a pink ribbon tattoo on her left wrist.

Until DNA comes back, they are not able to confirm the body is that of Villalvalzo, we will post updates as they become available.
