BOX ELDER COUNTY, Utah, Jan. 4, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — Major crashes Wednesday night caused Interstate 15 closures in two different locations, according to Utah Highway Patrol officials.

Sgt. Todd Royce said a crash involving between 10 and 15 vehicles including a semi-trailer hauling cattle shut down I-15 southbound in Box Elder County near mile marker 376.

Royce said it’s not yet clear if anyone has been injured in that crash, but I-15 was shut down until at least midnight and a detour route was set up on State Route 13 through Tremonton and Corinne. Royce said a number of smaller crashes also impacted that area.

A multi-vehicle crash also shut down the northbound I-15 at mile post 303 at 3300 South, but Royce said as of 10 p.m., that crash was moved to the right and snow plows were going through the area.

Royce added that drivers that can delay their travel Wednesday night are advised to do so due to adverse conditions.

Gephardt Daily will have more on this developing story as information becomes available.
