BOX ELDER COUNTY, Utah, Jan. 2, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — The Utah Department of Transportation is advising Northern Utah drivers to plan ahead for two overnight closures on Interstate 15 in Box Elder County this week.

I-15 will close in both directions at exit 372 in Honeyville from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. Wednesday and Thursday for bridge construction, UDOT said in a news release.

While crews install new steel beams for the new bridge, UDOT will divert all I-15 traffic onto the off- and on-ramps at exit 372 in Honeyville, the news release said. Drivers will still be able to continue on I-15, but will need to plan for reduced speeds and moderate delays and allow extra time to travel through the detour.

Motorists with time-sensitive travel should consider using alternate routes, UDOT said, such as parallel SR-13, at either Elwood or Corinne, or via SR-38, at either Collinston or Brigham City. Intermittent lane closures on I-15 may take place through the remainder of the week.

Next week on Monday and Tuesday, northbound I-15 will be closed in this area for bridge work. All lanes on southbound I-15 will remain open during this time.

Construction on this project is scheduled for completion this spring.
