SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Oct. 12, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — Six teenage boys are in custody Thursday evening after an alleged armed robbery at Jordan Park in Salt Lake City.

Salt Lake City Police Department spokesman Lt. Mark Buhman told Gephardt Daily the two victims told officials they were approached by the juveniles around 3:30 p.m. at the park, at 1060 S. 900 West.

The suspects robbed the victims at gunpoint and then left the scene in a stolen vehicle, Buhman said, but took only small personal items.

Police spotted the suspect vehicle on Pacific Avenue minutes later, stopped the car and took the suspects, whose ages range from 15 to 17, into custody. Two firearms were recovered from the suspects.

Buhman said officials are now investigating the circumstances of the robbery, including if there was any relationship between the victims and the suspects.

Criminal charges have yet to be determined, Buhman added.

Gephardt Daily will have more on this developing story as information becomes available.
