Layton police seek suspect exposing himself to women, becoming bolder

LAYTON, Utah, Jan. 5, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Layton police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man wanted for three recent sexual offenses.

All incidents occurred around the apartment complex just north of Layton Hills Mall, located at 540 W. 1425 North.

  • At 5:30 a.m. on Nov. 10, a man with his pants down and his genitals exposed approached a woman who was walking to her car. There was no other contact.
  • At 4:48 a.m. Dec. 19, a man with his pants down and his genitals exposed ran toward a woman walking down the stairs from her apartment. The woman ran back up the stairs, and the man left the area.
  • At 5:30 a.m. on Jan. 4, a man with no pants on, wearing women’s underwear, approached a woman and tried to grope her as she was getting into her car. She drove away, and the man left the area on foot.

Layton police describe the suspect as a light-skinned male, estimated to be 20 to 30 years old. He is about 5 feet 10 inches tall and has a medium build.

He was seen wearing a dark or gray hoodie, using a white bandanna or mask to cover his face.

“Layton investigators have canvassed the apartment complex speaking with tenants and looking for the suspect, and are actively investigating these incidents, but we are asking that the public contact us with any information they may have regarding the identity,” the Layton Police Department said in a prepared statement.
