Update: Man killed in Lehi motorcycle accident identified

LEHI, Utah, July 5, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — A man who died after a motorcycle crash in Lehi Wednesday afternoon has been identified.

The Lehi Police Department identified the deceased as Brett Webster, 27, of Eagle Mountain.

Police said in a Facebook post that officials were called to the scene of the crash in the area of 3700 N. Thanksgiving Way just before 4:50 p.m.

A subsequent news release from Lehi Police said that Webster was traveling northbound on Ashton Boulevard and another vehicle was in front of him and about to make a right turn onto Thanksgiving Way. At the same time there was a white SUV at a stop sign at the intersection.

The driver of the white SUV stated they could not see Webster due to the other vehicle obscuring him, and the SUV then entered the intersection to make a left turn.

Webster lost control of the motorcycle while trying to avoid contact with the SUV, and he was thrown from the motorcycle. The two vehicles did not make contact with each other.

The victim, who was not wearing a helmet, suffered severe head trauma. He was transported to a local hospital, where he died.
