Man with Dog Killed In West Valley Auto-Pedestrian Accident Identified

WEST VALLEY CITY, UTAH – July 18, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) – The West Valley City man who was killed, along with his dog, in an auto-pedestrian accident near 4670 W. 4100 South has been identified.

According to West Valley City Police Sgt. Justin Wycoff, Bryan Haskell, 41, was walking his dog on the sidewalk along 4100 South around 8 a.m. Saturday morning when they were both hit by a speeding SUV. The out-of-control SUV, driven by 29-year-old Earnest King,  then severed a utility pole before hitting a tree in a neighbor’s front yard.

Police say both Haskell and his dog died at the scene.

The driver of the SUV was taken to the hospital with scratches and bruises.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation and has yet to be determined.
