Update: Man who died after being hit by car in Logan identified

LOGAN, Utah, Feb. 10, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — An 84-year-old man struck by a car Friday night in Logan has been identified.

The deceased is Otto Kalman, who was crossing the street when he was hit by an oncoming vehicle at approximately  8 p.m. Friday near 450 North and 100 East.

Logan Police Capt. Tyson Budge told Gephardt Daily that the man was walking across 450 North when he was struck by a vehicle heading south on 100 East. The driver of the vehicle was an 18-year-old woman.

“It was very dark and rainy,” Budge said. “It’s a bad night out there.”

The accident is still being investigated, and police will be checking surveillance video from the area to help in the investigation.
