Former Salt Lake City Mayor, Deedee Corradini was remembered by friends and family as she was laid to rest today. At 70 years old, Corradini, a non-smoker, was undergoing treatment for Stage 4 lung cancer.

At Wasatch Presbyterian Church in Salt Lake, so many at the funeral spoke of her achievements. She served Salt Lake from 1992 to 2000. In that time, she ushered in the beginning of TRAX, helped win the bid for the 2002 Winter Olympics and built a AAA Baseball stadium. “She showed us we could do more and we could be more,” Lindsey Van said.

In all the great things she accomplished, her husband spoke of what he will remember most, “I have no idea where I go from here. I know where I’ve been. For the first time, I loved and I was loved in return. Therefore, my life has been fulfilled,” he said.

At noon, eight bells chimed from the Salt Lake City-County Building at noon, representing the eight years she served as mayor.
