MAGNA, UTAH – August 21, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) – Two men who are associates of Magna homicide victim Stevan Chambers took officers on a foot chase Friday afternoon.

According to Unified Police Lt. Lex Bell, investigators were looking into a list of several people they received after the shooting of Chambers Monday. They are trying to determine movements in the days prior to his death as well any possible witnesses.

Just after noon today detectives observed two men who were known associates of Chambers.  Both were also known to have warrants for their arrest and had been avoiding law enforcement for some time, even before Chambers’ death.

When detectives attempted to contact the males, they fled on foot.  Because there were so many officers in the Magna area, a very tight containment was established quickly and both suspects were located and arrested within 45 minutes.

The men arrested at 3180 S. 8950 West, Magna, are Daniel Ryan Pruden-Hayes, 25, and Lewis Richard Andreason aka “Pee Wee”, 39.

Unified Police said in a statement: “Neither person is considered a suspect or a person of interest in the death of either Stevan Chambers or Shelli Brown, they were both simply known to be a part of the same social circle. Both were booked for several felony and misdemeanor drug, fleeing and theft related warrants.  Daniel was also booked for a new charge of fleeing on foot.  This release is being sent due to the high level of interest amongst the media and number of inquiries about the two arrests.”

On Monday, August 21, Chambers, 26, of Magna, was found in the middle of the street near 9100 W. 2900 South just after 3 a.m.

When police arrived there, they found Chambers, a longtime Magna resident, had been killed by a single gunshot wound. That case is being investigated as a homicide.

Then on Wednesday, two days later, police in Magna were called to Copper Park, 9000 W. 2600 South, around 10 a.m where a woman who was walking her dog had reported the body of Shelli Marie Brown, 26, also of Magna.

It was later confirmed that the two homicide victims were acquaintances but police have not said if the homicides are connected.
