Motorcyclist rushed to hospital in critical condition after crash in Ogden

OGDEN, Utah, April 17, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — A crash during rush hour Monday sent a 55-year-old man to the hospital with a serious head injury.

Ogden Police Lt. Will Cragun said the accident occurred at about 5:25 p.m. at 24th Street and C Avenue.

A 23-year-old woman driving a 2017 Toyota RAV4 was stopped for traffic, when her vehicle was rear-ended by a 2016 Harley-Davidson motorcycle driven by 55-year-old man.

Cragun said the man was not wearing a helmet and was taken by ambulance to a local hospital in critical condition.

The woman wasn’t injured, Cragun said, but there was significant damage to both vehicles.

Cragun said the accident created some traffic issues because of the time of day and the location, where heavy traffic flows into downtown Ogden. He said the scene was cleared by about 7:20 p.m.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
