SALT LAKE COUNTY, Utah, Oct. 17, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — A 25-year-old man has been upgraded from critical condition to fair after the passenger car he was driving collided with a concrete pumper truck on Mountain View Corridor late Tuesday afternoon.

The incident occurred on southbound Mountain View Corridor at milepost 9, which is 15481 South, at approximately 5:15 p.m., Unified Police Department spokesman Detective Jared Richardson told Gephardt Daily.

Both vehicles were going southbound, Richardson said, when the driver of the passenger car lost control for an unknown reason and hit the back of the truck. The driver’s side of the passenger car hit the back passenger side of the truck.

The driver of the car was transported to a local hospital by ground ambulance. He was upgraded to fair condition at the hospital.

The driver of the truck was unhurt.

Richardson said southbound Mountain View Corridor has been shut down and is likely to reopen by 7 p.m.
