SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Sept. 21, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — Granite School District has confirmed all students at Oakridge Elementary are safe and accounted for after a mountain lion was spotted in the woods near the site.

The students at the school, which is located at 4325 Jupiter Drive, stayed inside for recess, the district tweeted. The school is in a residential area, but also near the mountains.

“Parents of kindergarten students at Oakridge will need to come into the school to pick up or drop off their children,” the tweet said. “As we near the end of school, we will have more information on student pick up based on whether animal control is able to find the animal.”

Gephardt Daily will have more on this developing story as information becomes available.
