OGDEN, Utah, Dec. 3, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — Firefighters responded to a blaze at a storage unit facility in Ogden early Sunday morning.

The structure fire broke out at 2550 S. 1900 West just before 4:30 a.m., Ogden City Fire Department Deputy Fire Chief Eric Bauman said in a news release.

“Upon arrival, crews reported heavy smoke and flames coming from one unit and fire
quickly spreading to the adjacent units. Crews quickly made access into the units and extinguished the fire.”

Three storage units sustained fire damage and an additional twenty units sustained smoke damage.

Firefighters had to return several hours later after the fire apparently rekindled, but they were able to extinguish it quickly.

Crews opened all of the units to ventilate them and to do a thorough search for any fire extension.

No-one was injured or displaced as a result of the blaze.

The cause of the fire has not been determined and is under investigation by the office of the Ogden City Fire Department Fire Marshal.

The exact extent of the damages has not yet been determined.

A total of 17 firefighters from Ogden City Fire Department and Roy City Fire Department responded with two ladder trucks, two engines, one ambulance, one paramedic unit and the Battalion Chief.
