Ogden police seek other victims of man booked into Weber County Jail

OGDEN, Utah, May 8, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — The Ogden Police Department is looking for more possible victims of a man currently booked into the Weber County Jail after an investigation by the Special Victim’s Unit.

The man, 42-year old Genaro Gabino De Jesus, was booked into jail on April 6 on charges of forcible sexual abuse and aggravated kidnapping. Police are screening, with the Weber County Attorney’s Office, additional cases that may involve Gabino De Jesus.

Investigators say his victims have been ages 14, 17, 18 and 29.

“Victims were approached or followed by the suspect in any of his vehicles (described below) and in various locations,” the OPD news release says.

“The suspect would offer rides to victims at bus stops, parking lots, or when victims were in transit on foot. The suspect has accomplished initial contact with the victims by appearing friendly.”

Police say Gabino De Jesus may have operated statewide, as well is in the Western U.S., in states including Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico and California.

Vehicles he may have used include a green Chevrolet Cavalier (unknown year), a brown pickup truck with tool box in bed (unknown year), and a 2004 white Ford Freestar van.
