Ogden police searching for 2 suspects after stabbing on trail

OGDEN, Utah, June 24, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Police are searching for two suspects after a man was stabbed while walking on a trail in Ogden on Sunday morning.

Ogden police responded to a report of an aggravated assault, which occurred in the area of the 700 block of 20th Street at approximately 8:50 a.m., officials said in a news release on Facebook.

“A male in his late 20s was walking on a trail when he was confronted by two males,” the news release said. “During a verbal exchange, one of the male suspects drew a sharp object and stabbed the victim in the stomach with the object.”

The victim and the suspects fled the scene on foot, the news release said.

The victim then contacted police and was transported to a local treatment facility for his injuries, which were non-life threatening.

The suspects were described as Hispanic men who appeared to be in their twenties.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing. A motive has not been established.
