OGDEN, Utah, Jan. 18, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — A 35-year-old woman was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries Wednesday morning after being shot in the calf in a cabin trailer she was sleeping in, police said.

The shooting occurred at approximately 6 a.m. near 173 W. Ray St., which is just north of 700 South, west of 4th Street Park, Lt. Nate Cline of Ogden Police Department told Gephardt Daily.

The woman told police she was asleep in a cabin trailer she was staying in when an unknown suspect entered and shot her in the calf, Cline said. She could not give a description of the suspect, or say whether the person was male or female. The woman was the only witness to the shooting, Cline said.

He added there was no evidence of a forced entry to the cabin trailer.

Authorities have not said if they are searching for a suspect at this time, but Cline did say there is not a threat to the public and this appears to be an isolated incident.

Gephardt Daily will have more on this developing story as information becomes available Wednesday afternoon.
