PERRY, UTAH – November 29, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) – Multiple accidents along I-15 in Box Elder County are causing massive delays and even partial closures Sunday night.

According to Utah Highway Patrol Trooper Evan Kirby, a pick-up truck headed northbound on the freeway was traveling too fast for the conditions and lost control. “He slid off to the right, then back to the left, where he hit a barrier,” Kirby said. “The impact against the barrier sent him back into oncoming traffic where he hit another vehicle head-on.”

Kirby said the truck caught fire and was soon engulfed in flames. “Three people received minor injuries and they were all transported to the hospital via ground ambulance,” Kirby said. “As a result of people watching the incident northbound, there ended up being a couple of collisions on the southbound side of the freeway.”

The fire department had to use water to extinguish the fire which then froze up across the freeway prompting a temporary closure of the northbound lanes.
