UPDATE: Pickup truck driver killed in Redwood Road crash identified

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Aug. 25, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — The driver of a pickup truck who was killed Thursday morning after colliding with a semi-truck on Redwood Road has been identified.

The victim is Victor Manuel Arellano-Solis, age 43, according to the Salt Lake City Police Department.

Salt Lake City Detective Rob Ungricht told Gephardt Daily the accident happened about 7 a.m. near 1900 S. Redwood Road.

According to Ungricht, a northbound semi was making a left-hand turn onto Associated Avenue when it was hit by a southbound Ford pickup truck.

Arellano-Solis was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 57-year-old driver of the semi was taken to the hospital with possible neck and back injuries.

Investigators have yet to determine the exact cause of the crash.
