MAGNA, Utah, Feb. 18, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — A woman was transported to the hospital in critical condition Saturday night after getting out of a car and stepping into the path of an oncoming vehicle.

The accident occurred near 7500 West and 3500 South.

Unified Police Sgt. Shane Manwaring told Gephardt Daily that the woman was a passenger in the car and was being given a ride by the male driver because she was intoxicated.

“On the way, they had an argument,” Manwaring said. “She jumped out of the vehicle, and a totally uninvolved truck driving down 3500 struck her.”

Manwaring said both drivers remained at the scene and were very cooperative. He said both were shaken by the incident.

And although the woman was transported in critical condition, it was determined that her injuries were not life-threatening.
