Police: Parole fugitive arrested after armed kidnapping attempt at Ogden Walmart

OGDEN, Utah, Feb. 3, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Ogden Police took a parole fugitive into custody Friday after he reportedly attempted to kidnap an individual at Walmart.

Ogden Police stated in a Facebook post late Friday night that officers responded at about 9 p.m on a report of a possible aggravated kidnapping at the store, at 1959 Wall Ave.

The victim managed to get away, and the suspect fled in a vehicle, which police pursued. The pursuit went through Davis County and involved multiple jurisdictions, police said.

“The suspect in the vehicle matched the description of parole fugitive Emanuel Carranza who has been reported to be armed and dangerous,” the Facebook post continues.

“The pursuit ended at 1400 W 2900 N when the suspect drove into a dead end road. The suspect was taken into custody without incident. The suspect was positively identified as Emanuel Carranza.”
