OGDEN, Utah, Dec. 31, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — Ogden police have released the names of the victim and the suspected shooter in Friday’s apparent homicide.

OPD Lt. Jake Sube said Steven Snider, 37, was shot at about 4:45 p.m. in the area of 27th Street and Adams Avenue. Snider died at the scene.

Lt. Sube identified the suspect as Jonathan Delgado, 32.

Sube had no information as to a motive in the shooting or whether either Snider or Delgado lived in the neighborhood where the shooting took place.

On Friday, Ogden police were in the area on a different call when they heard a gunshot. A man was seen running into one of the buildings on Adams Avenue, where he barricaded himself. SWAT was called out and, after a standoff of several hours, the suspect surrendered and was taken into custody without incident.

Police completely blocked off Adams between 27th and 28th streets, and a lockdown was in place, with no one allowed into the area or out of the buildings on that block for the duration of the standoff and subsequent crime scene investigation.
