UPDATE: Homicide Suspect Taken into Custody

Homicide suspect Roberto “Robert” Carlos Munoz was taken into custody today in Taylorsville by police after receiving a tip.

Munoz is suspected of killing Michael Ramirez, a 28-year-old resident of Salt Lake City.

Officers were dispatched on a possible death at 1267 W. 900 S. at approximately 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, April 5.  Ramirez was found deceased at the scene with evidence that he had been physically assaulted.

Homicide detectives identified Munoz, 29 (pictured above), as the suspect in the homicide. Robert was last seen leaving the homicide on foot at approximately 9 a.m.

SLCPD spokesman Det. Greg Wilking said Munoz was in Taylorsville at an apartment complex when police received a tip. Homicide detectives and Unified Police officers went to the apartment building and Munoz was taken into custody.
