MIDVALE, Utah, Jan. 7, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) – Police searching for an armed robber who targeted a Midvale meatball shop have a big clue to go on: The suspect ejected a live round onto the floor.

Unified Police Department spokesman Lt. Lex Bell said two employees were closing Moochie’s Meatballs and More, 7725 State St., when the suspect pointed a gun at them and demanded cash.

Bell said the employees initially said no, which is when the robber pulled his gun out and racked the slide, ejecting a live round onto the floor. A forensics team will now run tests on it and check it for fingerprints.

After receiving an unknown amount of cash, the robber exited the store. An employee followed him out to the parking lot, where it appears he was picked up in a dark, four-door Honda Accord dating from between 2005 and 2010. The Accord has LED taillights and stock rims.

Police said the suspect is described as a Hispanic man in his mid 20s, wearing a light blue hoodie with the hood up and cinched tight around his face.  There is no description of the driver.

Anyone who has any information regarding the robber is asked to contact the Unified Police Department at 801-743-7000.
