SOUTH SALT LAKE, Utah, Aug. 3, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — The South Salt Lake Police Department has released photos of a suspect sought after an armed robbery on Tuesday.

The robbery took place at about 4 p.m. at the Family Dollar Store at 3750 South and State Street, according to information from the SSLPD.

The armed man was gone when officers arrived, but witnesses told police that the suspect put some items on the counter, then pulled out a handgun, pointed it at the female employee and demanded cash.

The cashier complied, and the suspect left the store with an undisclosed amount of cash and got into a waiting pickup truck, described as an older model, green truck, driven by a female.

The suspect vehicle was last seen traveling southbound on State Street.

During the armed robbery no one was injured or harmed, but the female employee was emotionally shaken, according to the SSLPD report.

The suspect appeared to be a Caucasian or Hispanic man, 6 feet 2 inches to 6 feet 5 inches tall, the police statement says. He has a heavy build and was wearing a black bandanna, a long-sleeve black shirt over a blue T-shirt, and blue denim jeans.

The suspect is heavily tattooed on his hands and forearms.

The SSLPD asks anyone who knows or has seen the male suspect in the photos to please call dispatch at 801-840-4000. The suspect is considered armed and dangerous, so do not approach him or attempt to contact.
